The Carbon Lifecycle for Ten Major Grains

Categories: Data | Resources

In 2017, the CRSC developed carbon footprints for ten major grains and oilseeds crops in Canada: barley; canola; corn; durum wheat; flax; lentils; oats; field peas; soybeans and wheat (other than durum). The reference year for these reports was 2014.

The carbon footprint calculations were updated in 2021.  Full document of the methodology and the ten individual crops reports are housed on the CRSC Metrics Platform..
